Boys Are Smelly!

Susanne has been so thankful for great friends like Colleen. Colleen actually took the time to learn how to disassemble Paxton's NG feeding equipment yesterday so that Susanne could get a little extra sleep overnight. She got up after each feeding was completed even though she had to be at work early this morning.

Paxton decided to challenge the strength of his diaper today by creating an amount that not even a Depends diaper could have handled. He managed to leak through, not only his diaper, but onto his clothes and two of his receiving blankets as well. He even got some on his mommy's shirt. The Padilla household will have no problem keeping Tide in business. That morning, he received his second bath since being home because of the explosion he had in his pants. Susanne thought that Paxton must have loved his bath so much last night that he had to find a reason to have another one today.

Susanne had the pest control company come out to the house today to evaluate her home for evidence of mice. Her neighbors had recently informed her of a problem that they were having with mice so Susanne wanted to make sure that she addressed this issue sooner than later. The guy that came out to investigate thought that there was some minor evidence of mice around the house because of the holes that were visible in certain areas against the foundation. He placed mouse bait in different locations around the house to try to kill any colonies of mice that might be present before they became overpopulated. Of course with Susanne being a veterinarian, she had some concerns with having a product like that accessible to her dogs. She knew what problems could arise if they ingested any of the mouse bait. She was reassured by the company that the bait was well secured in a durable plastic box. Susanne still knew that she would have to keep a close eye on James because he tends to get into the most interesting things. Cardboard obsession...need I say more?

Susanne and Paxton felt spoiled because Scott came home again today. It was so nice for the whole family to be able to hang out together again. Scott and Susanne decided to take Paxton on his first stroll around the neighborhood. He really seemed to enjoy his ride in his new stroller. It was so nice for them to finally be able to use the thing. Once they got home, Paxton got to try out his cradle swing. The swing had a lot of bells and whistles including six speeds to choose from. Susanne and Scott quickly figured out that they had to keep it at the lowest setting because that was fast enough. The highest speed almost seemed like the pirate ship ride at an amusement park where the whole thing swings side to side and then goes upside down and around. Scary!

One of Scott's childhood friends, Dana, stopped by with her husband and son to drop off a lovely dinner and beautiful gift. Susanne was very touched that she took the time to find things that she could cook that Susanne would be able to eat on her special diet. Susanne's favorite part of the whole meal was the pumpkin bread. She had been craving carbs and there had been so many food items that she could not have. This was an absolute treat. Thanks Dana!
