Excited Return

Unfortunately, Susanne didn't sleep well. She was up every three hours worrying about Paxton. It was difficult for her brain to shut off because she was so used to
taking care of him. She was super excited to get home and see him.

For breakfast, Scott wanted to take Susanne, Aixa, and Anthony to an Italian pastry shop for some sweet treats. Scott had been there before with Poppy and really fell in love. He was most excited about having Aixa try the cannolis because he knew they were her favorite. It wasn't until they rolled up to the front door that they realized that they were closed on Sundays. They were beyond bummed.

The next place they stopped at was a quaint little restaurant that was serving brunch. The kicker was that they only took cash which they were out of at that point. They ventured down to see what restaurants were along the beachfront. They came up with nothing. After wasting a bunch of time, they decided to settle for a chain restaurant and call it a day. It ended up being a sports bar that was featuring the Carolina game. Three of the four of them had attended NC State so this was a recipe for disaster. They were definitely rooting for the other team, it didn't matter who it was. It got really rowdy in the restaurant, but they survived. The entertainment was great, but the food was even better. Most of them built a burger, which ended in success. They were sad when their time had come to an end. They wished they could make the weekend last a little longer. They were hoping to see each other again soon.

Susanne and Scott were sad to see Aixa and Anthony go, but they were excited to head back to see Paxton. When they finally arrived, Paxton was playing on his playgym. It was short lived before he was showing signs of being tired. It was almost like he waited to fall asleep until they had returned home.

Later that evening, Paxton was ready to play again. He was making a variety of noises with his mouth. They were thinking anyday now, he should be forming words. He was also exploring his mouth a lot more with his hand. In the past, he would suckle on his arm. It slowly progressed to him suckling on his hand and most recently, suckling on his fingers.

Paxton got active at the end of his play session. He was kicking around and laughing quite a bit. He thought it was really funny when his feet were placed into his hands. He was intrigued by his wiggly toes. Hopefully, he would be able to do this on his own soon without any prompting.

Scott and Susanne spent the rest of the night getting back into the swing of things. It wasn't long before they were enmeshed back into Paxton's routine. It felt good to be home.
