Paxton's New Room

For some reason, Susanne went to bed close to 4:00am. Right as she was just putting her head down on her pillow, Paxton started to rustle around. He couldn't get comfortable and needed his mommy to make it all better. Susanne pretty much pulled an all-nighter by the time she fell asleep.

Susanne thought that Scott should get up to turn off Paxton's continuous feeding so she could get a little extra sleep. Unfortunately, Susanne ALWAYS had to wake Scott up for him to take care of Paxton if he was still sleeping. He was such a deep sleeper that he wouldn't wake up for anything. Not even for a screaming baby. After taking time to adjust, he would eventually get up to take care of Paxton. He was shocked how quickly the time flew by. Not even an hour later, he had to get up to start Paxton's next feeding for the day. It was hard to motivate him especially the second go round. He was still adjusting to this new way of life. Paxton's schedule was a little off, but hopefully they would be able to catch up by the end of the day.

Susanne and Scott noticed that Paxton's diaper rash was worse. He had little ulcers on his rear end. They had tried different types of Destin, Butt Paste, Baby Powder, A+D ointment, Calmoseptine, Medline Remedy, Domeboro packets, Arbonne's Herbal Diaper Rash Cream, Aquaphor...etc. They had even attempted to air him out a couple times a day. He would lay on layers of towels without his diaper on so that his skin could dry out. This was supposed to help the ulcers heal faster. Unfortunately, they weren't seeing any improvement.

Scott and Susanne spent the rest of the day trying to reorganize and rearrange the room that Paxton was staying in. They needed to try to make more room for all of his things. Even though he was only 13 months old, he had accumulated so much stuff. The sad part was that this wasn't even the half of it because most of it was still up in VA. They weren't sure how it would all fit, but somehow they would make it work.

After a full day of hard work, they all went over to Aunt Leah's house for Mexican Night. Leah had made a delicious spread that included chicken fajitas, spicy black beans, chips, and her homemade salsa. Yum!

Parker had a lot of time to play with Paxton. He made Paxton laugh on multiple occasions. It was so sweet to see them interact. Parker really had such a sweet, gentle demeanor about him.
