Extreme Super Moon

Susanne and Scott were headed to Wilmington for the afternoon and evening. They were excited about Aixa's birthday celebration, but they were having a difficult time leaving Paxton. It never seemed to get any easier.

Paxton would first be under the care of his Aunt Leah, then his Gigi, and then both Gigi and Poppy. They were all aware that they needed to have their phone on them at all times. Susanne would call in for updates and she wanted them to call if they had ANY question, no matter how small.

They arrived in Wilmington around 1:00pm and met Aixa and Anthony for lunch. To help break them in, Susanne and Scott ventured out and had Bloody Mary's to start their day per Aixa's request. It was the first time that Scott had ever had one and the first good one that Susanne had ever had. For their meal, they went out full Southern style. Susanne had shrimp and grits and Scott had a barbecue sandwich, macaroni and cheese with sweet tea. It was yummy.

After lunch, they all walked along the boardwalk. They stopped at different riverside restaurants and enjoyed drinks along the way. The weather was beautiful and they were trying to find any excuse to be outside. Right around 3:00pm, Susanne freaked out because she thought she forgot to give Paxton his medications. It took a few minutes for her brain to regroup and realize that Paxton wasn't with her. He was at Gigi and Poppy's house and someone else was taking care of all of that. This was the perfect opportunity for Susanne to call home to get an update on the little guy. She ended up doing this at every feeding and even before bedtime. It gave her peace of mind to know that Paxton was doing a-okay. Leah even sent Susanne a picture of Paxton playing with his Lock N Rock Linking Musical Shakers. He was straight jammin'!

Before dinner, they headed to the beach to watch the sunset. This was definitely something that Susanne missed doing. She remembered doing this a lot as a child since she grew up near the water. It was such a fond memory for her. After the sunset, they waited for the moon to rise. It was supposed to be an extreme super moon with it being 30% brighter and 14% bigger. What a sight to see! It was spectacular.

For dinner, they went to a local Mexican restaurant. They all ate their weight in chips. Even though they were stuffed just from that, they managed to finish their entire meal. It was probably the best food they had had in a long time. Basically, it was perfection on a plate.

Once they knew Paxton was safe and sound in his bed, they finished the night out at the restaurant in their hotel. Everyone got something different to drink, which was humorous. Scott was thrilled with his choice. It was the best White Russian he had ever had. It was definitely going down in the books.

Susanne and Scott ended up having a memorable day with good friends. They were missing Paxton terribly, but they were glad that they made it out to help celebrate.
