Mr. Mom

Paxton only woke up once overnight, which was around 3:00am. After that, he slept right up until his 9:00am feeding. He didn't gag much and there was no vomiting.

Scott was in charge of taking care of Paxton again today. They had such a grand time with each other yesterday that they couldn't wait to hang out again. Scott knew exactly what he wanted to do with him. Paxton had a musical activity walker that he got for Christmas that was very interactive and entertaining. Even though he couldn't quite use it as a walker yet, Scott found a way for him to still enjoy it. He set Paxton up on his Boppy pillow facing the huge keyboard. Paxton immediately went to town. He pushed the keys and danced around to the music. His legs and arms were moving. He was smiling and laughing nonstop. For some reason he had a preference for the color yellow. It was probably just that he loved how the word sounded in spanish. For a long time, all that Scott heard was...amarillo, amarillo, amarillo, amarillo.

Paxton also smiled at Scott all morning. Anytime he would smile at him, he would smile back. It was such an awesome moment for them both. It really solidified their bond.

Paxton fell asleep right as Susanne arrived home for lunch. He didn't wake up until the second she walked out the door. Even though she didn't get to hang out with him then, she was hoping she would get to spend some time with him when she got home later. She couldn't wait to see his smiling face.

While Scott was watching Paxton, Poppy was watching Parker. Aunt Leah was at work just like Susanne and needed someone to watch Parker for a little bit. It was a house full of boys. This was something Poppy hadn't had in quite a while with raising four girls. Poppy and Parker had a day full of adventure while Scott and Paxton relaxed. Poppy and Parker built things, walked through the woods, made chocolate pudding, and planted flowers. Scott and Paxton watched Seasame Street, took a nap, and played with a variety of his toys. This was the difference with having a child that was more mobile. Paxton and his daddy sure had a lot to look forward to in the future.

Scott, Susanne, and Paxton decided to go over to Aunt Leah's to watch the second night of American Idol. Leah had brought over a six pack for them to enjoy last night, so they returned the favor by bringing over a plethora of beer to her house. It was nice to get to relax another night together. Anything to keep them upbeat about their situation was helpful.

Leah continued with more craniosacral therapy. Paxton really seemed to respond well to Leah's healing hands. She could feel him release on multiple occasions. It was strange that he was open to her placing both of her hands on his head. He was usually very resistant to anyone touching that region of his body especially with he recent surgery. By the end of her treatments, he was exhausted. It was easy to tell that it was well past his bedtime. Susanne and Scott decided to head home shortly after American Idol was over.

All night Susanne and Scott took note that Paxton had been coughing a lot less. It was hardly noticeable now except when he went down for a nap. It seemed like the humidifier was really helping. This was great news.
